Glen Harmon Hanson
Glen Harmon Hanson 1922 ~ 2009 Glen Harmon Hanson, 87, passed away after a brief illness Sept. 14, 2009, surrounded by his family. Born July 28, 1922 in Brigham City, Utah to Harmon and Almina Hanson. Graduated from Granite High School in 1939. Proudly served in The European Theater in World War II as Crew Chief of B-17 Mechanics in the 8th Army Air Forces. Married Beth Sundberg September 16, 1948, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Partner in Hanson Auto Company for 29 years. Employed at Linford Glass, Office Express, Rocky Mountain Data, and at M & T Bank, where he worked until the time of his death. Member of the L.D.S. church where he served as Bishop of the Grant 11th Ward, Counselor in Grant Stake Presidency, Temple Ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple, and served an LDS Inner City Mission. Avid University of Utah fan and Crimson Club member. He loved camping, boating, hunting, golfing, restoring cars, and spending time with his family. The focus and center of his life was his family which includes eight children and spouses, 28 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. His immediate family posterity now numbers 90 members. He is survived by his companion of 61 years, Beth, and sons and daughters and their families: Craig and Marilyn Hanson, Cyndee and Scott Seare, Cyd and John Wolfgramm, Ted and Gail Hanson, Liz and Jesse Baer, Brian and Brook Hanson, Karl and Tammy Hanson, a sister, Verona Fairbanks, and brother, Dennis Hanson, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Shane Hanson, his parents, a brother, Elon Hanson, sisters Ione McNeil, LaRue Neve, Vaudis Atkinson, and Fonda Thompson.
